Fox

Well the other night Chris went to step outside and he looked toward the car and there was this little fox. So he quietly called for us to come and see and of course I had to go for the camera. It was almost 8pm so it was just starting to get dark outside and trying to get my flash to him was difficult. He stayed at the end of the car for a few photo's even after we opened the door. Then it went around the corner so Lizzy and I ran to my bathroom window to have another look. And there it sat on a snow pile. I took a few more photo's through the window and some through the screen then I decided to try and take out the screen. The fox kept eye contact with me the whole time I was working on the screen. I managed to get it out and not scare him away. I was able to snap a few photo's before he had enough. It was pretty exciting to have it be so close.

It was great to see your updated post! (I was getting ready to call 911 to make sure you guys were OK!) Great snaps of the fox. Those are fun wildlife “events” and especially when there is enough time to get some good pictures as well. Are you still counting the months till you come home?

Hi, Ken and Bonnie,
We are still "alive" over here. Just waiting for spring to get here. We are still counting the months to come home but life here is going well. We were hoping to sneak home this summer but looks like we'll have to wait till next year. Thank for checking in on us. Will try to get some pics of the kids posted soon. Take care, we miss ya lots.

That's neat, it's fun to see from your blog how the wildlife is different there than here. The middle picture is really cute. :)

Wow! Nice photos Wendy! That fox was very patient with you to let you take so many pictures, especially with a flash! Our dog doesn't like the flash on the camera and it is difficult to get her to look at us when she knows the flash is coming.
Its great to see you enjoying the unique place where you are living. It may not be like 'home' (SE AK), but you will bring many wonderful memories back with you.
As for your previous post on the snow, we are looking forward to the spring meltoff down here too, but thankfully it doesn't seem to be accumulating any more. Tonight we have rain and a moderate breeze blowing - the kind that can be relaxing to listen to and fall asleep in a warm, snug bed.
We miss you all, but really enjoy your posts on your blog--keep it up!

Hi, Becky and Julie
Thanks for stopping by. The fox sure was a fun photo opt. We are definitely enjoying our "new" memories here but cant wait to get back to SE. Julie you sure had some great snow pics. As you can see ours keeps coming back. We hope spring will get here soon. We definitely miss the rain (sometimes :) ) I still think of my "tank" when it rains even thought its not here and were not collecting here.
