What I saw today!
Another view from my house into town. This is a morning sunrise at 10:30 or so. I love the color on the fresh snow.
I got pretty close to this young eagle, was a bit scary. Chris said I better be able to get into the truck quick because I was on my own. hehe
This is baby Elizabeth. I played softball with her mom and turns out she needs a sitter a few days a week. Our first 2 days went well. She really likes the kids and the cats. She's only 9 months old and were having fun with her.
I need to find out the names of these birds. They are very pretty and colorful.
They call this pyramid mtn.

I love the picture of the mountains! If you can't have trees and muskeg, you do have other gorgeous scenery. :) Looks like you're getting to know people and fitting in well up there. I'm glad you're doing well. Brian misses Tommy, he wrote about him as his best friend in an assignment today. :)
Thanks Becky. Yes the mts are great to have. We are enjoying our new scenery and Tommy definately misses Brian. Hope all is going well for your school yr so far.
You guys have some great scenery there!! We are enjoying the pictures. By the way, any idea when you are coming back home?
Hi, ken and bonnie.
Thanks for stopping by. Glad your enjoying the pics were enjoying it here so far. We hope to get home for a visit this summer. Hope to move back in 3yrs. Have a good day.
The bottom photo is of Harlequin ducks with two hens in the front of the six drakes. The top picture is of Emperor geese. Hope this helps.
You have beautiful photos. Dutch Harbor looks as beautiful as the last time I was there about 6 years ago. I always loved the WWII history of the area.
Eric&Sarah,
Thanks for stopping by and for the information. It helps out alot. We are finding it very beautiful here even without trees :). We are enjoying all the WWII stuff also. It's crazy how spread out all over the island it is. We are amazed about what it must have taken back then to get it all built.
Speaking of trees, are there still a couple of them in the park by the kids play area? They were looking a little worse for wear last time I was there. I was told that they were planted in WWII.
