Friday Night

This photo was taken on our way home from basketball practice. It was after 9pm. Lizzy and I spotted it along side the road so we pulled over and I jumped out of the car to take the pic. I had left my headlights on but they didn't seem to bother the fox. I was probably only 25 feet away from it. I only got one shot snapped off before it went further into the grass. It was a nice clear night which Saturday was the total opposite. We had KTN rain but with 60mph winds. Made running to and from the car a bit of a challenge. Can't wait to get some more of these beautiful creatures.

Wendy,

Sure am enjoying your pictures of the local area. Thanks for the answers to the community water/electricity questions. It is just fun to find out about life in new places. Are you up for a few more questions? Good! Are the horses just for fun or are they used for some commercial venture? Is that a fox in the first picture? What other types of land wildlife have you seen? Is the road you drove on a single lane? Hard or dirt surface? Does it lead to a specific destination besides the end of the road? Do you use oil/gas/electricity to heat your house?

Gas here is $3.079 at Lighthouse and you can get it for $2.979 with your club card at Safeway in town. Looks like you could make up some dynamite Alaska calendars with the pictures you are collecting.

Lizzy, what happened to your dimples?

Hugs to you guys,

Ken and Bonnie

Wendy, those are some great pictures of the local wildlife. I think it is so neat that you have horses out there and what a great treat to see a fox. I am looking forward to your future shots of them. By the way, did you ever get more snow?

Hi Ken & Bonnie,
No problem with the questions. I'm enjoying them hopefully the answers are ok. The horses are just for fun. From what we have gathered a long time ago people here used to own them but now they are just "wild" horses. They are very friendly as you can see. It is a fox in the first pic I'm hoping to get more of them as winter sets in. Not a whole lot of other wildlife except for birds. They don't have much wildlife here like in KTN. The road system is mostly paved in town any road leading out of town are just gravel and close to being 2 lanes(the gravel ones). We use oil for our heat here it's a forced air furnace. And gas was $3.14 and milk goes for $5.39 at Safeway. Glad your enjoying the pictures they've been fun to take. A good place to check out here is "google earth" it's a great mapping site and you'll be able to see the road system and if you see the school buses across from a baseball field that's us. Good to hear from ya, sorry took so long to answer. Wendy and family
